current Protocols For in-studio Yoga Classes

1. General Studio Safety

  • If you feel unwell, stay home!

  • We will continue to provide virtual and hybrid classes for those who are not yet ready or able to return to the studio space or an in-person practice.

2. Attendance Protocols

  • We are accepting drop-in students to the studio space; however, our space is small and class sizes are at a limited capacity so pre-registration is preferable for a guaranteed space for class!

  • Students who register for an in-studio class and cannot attend MUST early-cancel their registration through MindBody, **any 'no-shows' on the roster will be charged for in-studio classes due to the restricted capacity and protocols in place.

  • Waitlists are enabled - if you sign up for a waitlist, it means you are committed to attending the class if someone cancels. If you are signed up for the waitlist and someone late cancels, you will automatically be moved onto the class roster. **Please make sure you have email notifications from MindBody turned on and/or check your account prior to class, otherwise you may miss a waitlist notification.

STUDIO QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Are there mats available for use at the studio?
Yes, we have public studio mats available for use without charge or rental fee. (Just ask the teacher, they are hanging on the wall in our prop area of the studio.)

What classes are good for beginners // is there a beginner class?
While all of our classes are considered mixed-level and our teachers are capable of offering modifications to any level of practitioner, we suggest Monday nights ‘Let Go & Flow’ @ 5:30pm or ‘Heavy Metal Monday’ @ 7:00pm + Tuesdays ‘Enlivening Fire Flow’ @ 5:45pm + Wednesdays ‘Align & Flow’ @ 9:00am + Thursdays ‘Prana Vinyasa’ @ 9:00am + Sundays ‘Sattvic Sunday Vinyasa’ @ 9:00am for first time yoga students.

Are the classes heated?
No, our studio is not a heated space - the intention of vinyasa is to build heat within the body through movement, awareness, and breath - so you may get warm, hot, or sweaty pending on the style of class without extra heat in the space itself.

How much is it for a drop in and how can I pay for it?
Our studio drop-in fee is $18 - the easiest way to register for class is through the MindBody app or online platform, this ensures that you have a space in studio to practice at your preferred class and allows you to register for all of our classes, community events, & workshops easily.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Venmo, or credit card - although we do accept drop-ins to the studio, our space is small and capacity is limited, the easiest method is to sign up through MindBody which allows you to store a card on file for recurrent classes.

Do I have to use my class pass within a certain time frame?
Both our 10 Class + 4 Class Packs expire within 1 year of purchase. If for some reason you are unable to use your purchase within that time frame, you can email us to discuss the potential of reinstating your class pack availability. Monthly Unlimited purchases expire within their allotted time frame from the first date of use.

What classes do the class passes cover?
Class Packs & Unlimited Passes can be used for all of our regular in studio classes. Mysore Yoga Philadelphia is a traditional ashtanga morning program that has separate purchasing from regular studio classes. All donation-based classes can be purchased at a lower affordability rate per class - or - class packs can be applied for use.

Do I have to register ahead of time for classes?
Our studio space is small and class capacities are limited to keep an intimate container of learning for both our students and teachers, while we do accept drop-ins to the studio, we suggest pre-registration to ensure that you have a space to practice. Select classes tend to sell out more than others - reach out if you would like more class-specific information!

I signed up for a virtual class but did not receive a link...
All of our online classes are held via Zoom : Meeting ID 883-036-6021 - this information is on our homepage + the yoga schedule section of our website + shows up in your MindBody receipt when registering for classes. We use the same Zoom ID for all virtual classes, trainings, & workshops so you always have access without the need for extra links.

What is mysore and is it really a 3 hour long class?
Mysore Yoga Philadelphia is a separate yoga program at our studio that facilitates classes of traditional ashtanga yoga in the mysore style of practice - for more information you can check out the Mysore Yoga Philly section of our website + their personal webpage of resources. (But no, you are not practicing for 3 whole hours!)

The parking situation & getting to the studio...
Friendly reminder that we are on a busy street in South Philly, if you are driving into the City, please give yourself enough time to find parking! Passyunk Avenue is metered parking (except on Sundays), there is a Public Municipal Parking Lot at 1012 E Passyunk Ave that is paid parking. Numbered streets (13th/12th/11th) around the Avenue are either 2-3 hour parking - please read the signs carefully! Smaller side-streets and 10th Street + are often free parking - check for signage! (Yes, we know it’s complicated and confusing, that’s Philly.) For inter-city commuters, the Tasker-Morris Station is a 2 block walk from the studio and there are plenty of bus stops on + around the Avenue!
