The Sacred Prana - Nadi Shamana
What is it we hold so dear? In times of confusion, when routes are unclear, how can we connect back to ourselves? What is it in each of us that has no affinity but for Divinity? Prana. She helps us experience the delights of sight, of sound, of taste, of touch, of smell. She guides us, hand in hand to perceptions courageous door.
She travels through our nooks and crannies. Through nadi and srota, through left side and right, through center. She swirls, she spins, she moves fast, she moves slow. She would like your direction and participation so that your lives together are unified, yoked, yoga.
In this workshop we will use asana, pranayama, and awareness exercises to invite, observe, and eventually engage, direct, and support prana. Finally, we will experience the post effects.
We will devote the day to Ha-tha Yoga - meaning the inherent balance of Solar (Ha) and Lunar (The) energies to come to a United (Yoga) Whole. We will discover that balance does not always means 50-50 splits, that what happens on the left doesn’t necessarily have to happen on the right. That freedom means to understand and respect the movements of Nature and then work with them. To understand the rules and then be free of them, now and karmically.
Prana is our key to experiencing reality as is it. Her balance allows us to feel Sattvic, clear, connected to Divinity, with a sense of appropriate doing and identity. It is something that can be done every day, any time, costs nothing, and with the need of nothing but a sensitive Self.
The cost of this special 3 hr exploration is $40
BIO: Sarra has been a grateful student of Yoga and Ayurveda for many years. She has been blessed with teachers who have searched classically for the patterns of the Universe and Spirit. Her studies and experiences in the realms of Yoga, Mantra, and Ayurveda all serve to assist in increasing depth, sensitivity, and simplicity in ways that both utilize and increase grace and observation.
Some of her teachers include, Andrey Lappa of Universal Yoga, Kula Yoga Project, Sankalpah College of Yoga (Yoga), Sadhvi Abha Saraswatiji and Raghunath Cappo (Mantra), Vaidya Ravi of Poonthottam Ayurvedasram, the California College of Ayurveda, and BCD (Ayurveda). Her teachers of touch include those at Sunshine School (Chiang Mai, Thailand) and Ohm (Omsala Chiang Mai, Thailand) for the wisdom of Thai Massage and Chi Nei Tsang.
Each of her teachers has forever moved her to be more observant, respectful, humble, and sincere - qualities ever present in yoga and its teachings.
In classes we will focus on the science behind the relationships between the body, the mind, and their bridges . We are concerned with the flow of prana, how and where it moves and does not move in posture, in nadi, with consciousness. Using the paradigms of Ha-tha Yoga and Ayurveda we will explore our capacity to be both strong and flexible, moving and still, Ha and Tha, and of course, migrating in the direction of steady appreciation and awareness.
