"The Center" an extended practice with Amanda Medina
Constantly we are asked by the world around us to give give give. We give out our energy to social media, friends, family, jobs, strangers, etc. This can lead to frustrations and drainage, especially as we enter the summer or Pitta Season. How do we gracefully move around this fast moving world and retain our life force? The central channel, the Sushumna is a place we can locate, nurture, move towards and away from. Using the physical body and mental imagery we can hone in on the central channel of ourselves in order to gain more awareness and insight as to how we really operate.
In this workshop we will explore the depths of the core through structural alignment, using the framework of the body to set us up to go inward, and explore the metaphysics of the Sushumna and what it means to hold onto the life force through the energy body. Physically, we will work on deep core strengthening, clean lines through the center of the body, inverting while retaining the core, and powerful breath work to set us up for centering meditation.
