Blessed thistle is prepared as a tea and used for loss of appetite and indigestion; and to treat colds, cough, fever, bacterial infections, and diarrhea. It is also used as a diuretic for increasing urine output, and for promoting the flow of breast milk in new mothers. The astringent properties of the plant often make it a great remedy for treating diarrhea when used in conjunction with herbs high in tannin content.

Blessed Thistle has antibiotic properties due to the substance cnicin, the essential oil, and the polyacetylene found in the plant and helps to stimulate the immune system.

This plant is native to the Mediterranean countries and Southeast Asia. Today, it is found both growing wild and cultivated in Central Europe, the southern United States and parts of Central and South America.

Blessed thistle invokes and protects what strengthens life. An herb associated in ancient times with Pan, protector and celebrator of life, blessed thistle continues to be an ally for bringing dreams into positive manifestation.
